The main character is Jessie, who wakes up and finds herself being hypnotically regressed by a variety of special pacifiers. It eventually turns out that this is a consensual fantasy between her and her girlfriend, Maddie.
Also mentioned (but not present at the time of the story) are Jessica's children, John, Tori, and Lisbet, and Maddie's kids Claire and Alan.
