Big Brother, Little Sister/The Treatment™
The Treatment™, or retrochondial recoding, is a revolution in genetic engineering. Created by Dennier-Pfalz-Furchtengöber, it allows people who can afford it to change almost any aspect of their appearance simply by rewriting their genome. Larger changes might take longer to settle down, though.
It is the main driver of the plot in Big Brother, Little Sister, but does not exist in other stories.
