A social media site and mobile app; somewhat similar to Facebook.
FS was wildly popular in the early 2010s, but seems to be less respected among the young. Now, a lot of teachers still treat it as an informal way to stay in touch with their class, requiring students to join a group or culture, but most modern teens will only use it for staying in touch with school stuff and older relatives. Security is known to be bad, and people seem to get a lot of ads (which are targeted based on stuff you previously clicked on, and possibly the content of your posts).
The site's interaction system relies on a voting mechanic which is supposed to allow users to rate their friends for trustworthiness. This takes the form of arrows originally labelled "vouch" and "warn", which soon changed to "vet" and "downvet". Apart from the company itself and social media 'experts', almost everyone sticks with the more natural 'vote' and 'downvote' terminology.
