This is the timeline for [[../]]. These are the main events, in roughly the order they happened. If anyone else is willing to help me make sure that this matches the actual story, please let me know (or just start editing). I'm putting in chapter numbers so that I can easily find bits I want to refer to in future, but any help with adding them would be appreciated.

==First Act==
* First week
** Tuesday night - listens to the file, first test. Chapters 1-9.
** Wednesday - triggered by mom, then by Featherchase in school. Goes home with Toni. Chapters 10-21.
** Thursday - triggered by Toni's dad on speakerphone. Tells friends. Triggered by Belle. Evening, gets book list from Brit and asks Mom to call her Adi. Chapters 22-32.
** Friday - triggered by Belle in the morning. Mom finds note. Sees Belle/Dean arguing at school. Triggered by Leatherface again. Chapters 33-38.
** Saturday - Mom cryptically questions Adi. Its ''about a month'' until Adi's birthday. Adi and Toni go shopping at the [[Mercer Centre]]. Adi says "If I was really an adult baby" line. Chapters 39-52.
** Sunday - Garfield gets home. Big argument. Mom lays down the law, and admits she knows Adi's secret. Chapters 53-58.
*** Sorting out birthday presents; Mom asks Adi about the baby stuff she's seen, suggests some other things she could get like a mobile for her room. Adi embarrassed and angry. ** Tuesday - Adi goes to stay with Toni, finds out that Britney thinks she wants to be a baby
** Wednesday - Adi doesn't have enough diapers to get home; Toni refrains from triggering her, earns some trust. First kiss, and Adi finally learns about the danger to her bladder muscles. Mobile arrives at home. Confrontation with Belle. Toni overhears Adi listening to file; doesn't realise she's trying to change her baby name
** Thursday - Toni finds out Belle wants a guitar (not sure if I skipped this scene)
** Friday - Last day. Gives Belle a copy of the hypno file
* First week after school
** Adi gets used to living with Toni for a while
** Toni now believes Adi is intending to become a baby, but promises not to push her. Trying to retrain her bladder muscles

** Adi thinking of Toni as her girlfriend now. A couple of tentative kisses. But still too nervous to say the word

** Lets Toni trigger her again, and finds that maybe it's a little fun
** Voluntarily wets herself once, before she's an adult

==Second Act==
* BIRTHDAY!
** Gets a selection of birthday age badges. So she can have a party with her friends and celebrate being technically an adult, with booze and stuff. But if she wants to play as a baby, she can just change her badge, and they'll treat her as a younger age. No triggering unless she chooses to wear a diaper again, or gets out the 'special' tshirt Toni bought her.
*** Gets the guitar, and is so happy about it.
** Adi gets something spilled on her shirt. Goes to change, and uses the bathroom at the same time because she doesn't quite trust Garfield. Then eavesdrops and overhears some of the party plan; all built around giving her the choice. But she hears her name; puts on the special shirt without realising, and everybody else thinks it's voluntary because she hasn't wet herself and that seems to confirm the assumption that she hasn't been triggered.
** Adi has a "first birthday" that's fun, but she gets very little choice in being turned into a baby
* for the rest of the week she's triggered several times a day, and pushed to add more baby behaviours to let her 'family' keep her regressed
** Garfield is being a jerk occasionally; triggers Adi in the hope of
** Introduces Dean as the babysitter
** Adi's dolls are acting out the plot from ''The Tempest''; so she's studying for her exams without realising

* Over the summer, Adi can be a baby almost as much as she wants, until the college year starts.
* Not allowed any real adult time; a few escape attempts, or trying to be an adult, but always caught and triggered.
* Toni, Dean, Britney, Nyx, and Garfield all watching out for any attempt to escape; because they think the game of trying to get out of this is part of the fantasy for her.
* Dean starts behaving different, less caring maybe. Adi can't understand why.
* One time Dean tries to tell Adi what he feels about those old reviews, but can't get the message across right.
** Ends up missing the time she's supposed to listen to her file, but she automatically tells Nyx as soon as she gets home.
*** New trigger so Adi will put the file+mobile on herself if the babysitter forgets for two days or more.
* Adi 'kidnapped'. Dean won't tell her what's going on, uses the triggers to make her behave through airport security, won't tell her anything.
* Arriving in another place. No cell reception at the holiday cottage.
** Adi knows she has to call home, but has to charge her phone first. Listen to music while it charges (ooops), Dean hears when he comes in, scolds her, and takes the phone. No way to call help.
* POV shift for a few chapters. Nobody knows where Adi is gone, they're all worried about her.
** Belle lets them know Dean is out of town, doesn't know why.
** Belle decides to stop with the baby thing while Dean is away, because she was only doing it to get her brother to pay attention to her again

* Start with the kidnapping scene again, Adi getting her phone taken away.
* Adi's being awkward and uncooperative.
** Figures that if Dean's going to regress her to keep her from getting help, she can fight by being a sulky toddler.
** Tantrums, refusing to do anything unless she's forced to.
* Some time later. Adi refuses to eat unless Dean forces her. He's fed up of this, and leaves her alone.
** She gets hungry and goes through the cupboards, sneaking cookies and chocolate when Dean isn't looking.
*** Dean isn't an idiot; knows that she's at least eating something, even if it isn't healthy, so doesn't tell her she's being dumb.
* Later again. Dean proposes a walk in the woods to get some exercise.
** Adi obstinately refusing to get dressed, but she's weak and clumsy. Dean dresses her.
** Deliberately messes her diaper to delay going out.
*** Dean is angry, snaps at her and tells her to stop acting like a baby. Some argument, then he leaves her on her own.
* Next morning. Talking at breakfast.
** Adi says he can't blame her for acting like a baby when he's treating her like one.
** Dean points out that he hasn't called her Adelaide in more than two weeks. The hypnotic suggestions should be fading.
** There's adult clothes for her in the closet in her room, if she wants to wear them. There's food that she should be able to cook herself if she wants to live on something other than just snacks (revealing that he knows she's been eating while he's not in the cottage).
** Adi says if she was free she'd at least be able to call home, or go online. Dean points out that he took her phone away because she's following a compulsion to keep on listening to the file, and he's worried that she was overdoing it.
*** During the exam period Dean realised that Adi was a blogger/reviewer he'd read when studying psychology, and knew that at least at the start she genuinely didn't want all this to happen. He read the 'note', and realised what it meant, but Toni and Nyx were convinced they'd already confirmed Adi's desires, wouldn't listen. He knows that after the file made her feel safe and relaxed, she might not be able to truly consent to going further; the vestigial effects of the file could be making a decision for her.
* After that argument, Adi's back in adult clothes (although more cutesy styles than she would have worn before)
* Has to potty train herself again, to recover the control she lost through weeks as a baby.
* Dean thinks it might be safe to try listening to the file again, but pick herself a new baby name. Changing her name will probably remove the old trigger more effectively than just forgetting it (which is what other people on the hypnotist's site said as well)
** Pick a name that sounds cute and childish but isn't a real name or a place name (check facebook to make sure) like Belle did
*** Adi ''finally'' asks what the deal with Belle and Dean is, because she still didn't realise they're siblings. So now she doesn't need to be jealous anymore (not that she ever did anyway, she certainly isn't interested in him like that)
* Another week or two pass.
** Dean tries to call Nyx, but gets nothing but incoherent abuse and demands to speak to Adi. Can't make her understand his position.
*** Adi would consider calling home, but they suspect that any call would start with someone calling her Adelaide and trying to forcibly 'rescue' her. So they want to leave it until she's 100% sure that trigger will no longer work.
** Dean's doing online coaching, signed up for a freelance programme on some internet-connected treadmills.
** Adi's doing freelance copywriting to save up a bit more money for college. Doesn't want to go home until she's sure the
** Adi listens to the file, initially with Dean monitoring to make sure she's chanting the right name.
* Have just had a 'baby time' session; it's something they're still doing to make sure the new trigger is sticking (in the hope it will help "Adelaide"'s effects vanish) as well as help her avoid stress
** Mom, Toni, and everyone come to the door. Dean asks Adi before answering if she feels confident speaking to them yet; and she says she's scared about having put them through too much

==Final Act (planned)==
* Adi tells everyone that she's mostly potty trained again, and after their attempt she's pretty certain that the old trigger no longer works.
* They have a little discussion about how they managed to misunderstand so much, and conclude it was nobody's fault.
* Adi and Toni both worry that they've done something unforgivable.
* Toni isn't sure what to call Adi now. It seems weird using her name normally after all the weirdness; and she's not sure if "Babe" is appropriate if Adi and Dean are together nw
** Adi laughs at that, says that she never saw it that way. Babe is fine.
** “You can call me whatever you want, if you still want to call me after all this. Adi, Babe, Adelaide, I'd even answer to Juniper if you're saying it. Or if you want to, you can call me [new trigger].” - maybe the last line of chapter 400.

The main character in [[../]].

Adi is egotistical, and sure she's smarter than everyone else. Possibly autistic; shows some behaviours such as hyperfocus, and failing to interpret other people's comments in the context of what they do or don't know.

She loves writing reviews and sees them as a kind of performance art, rather than being secondary to another art. She used to do them for music and movies, but later specialised in reviewing hypnosis files available online, because that's the only area she got any feedback at all. Her kind of review is more like a comedy roast than an actual analysis.

She also has tried learning to play bass; briefly dreamed of being in a band. She has some skill, but there's no way she'd ever have the confidence to play in front of someone else. One of her secret desires is a particular guitar that's on sale second hand in a local music shop. It's more expensive than she could ever afford, almost as expensive as a new one. But it's been on tour with a couple of relatively obscure bands, including at least one player who Adi idolised in the past. One of the bands was called [[Franklin’s Muse]]; they did a tour once that covered half the West Coast, but it's implied that's the most success they ever had. She can't tell her family about that, though, because she thinks it's illogical to want something like that and she knows her father would disapprove (because he judges presents purely in terms of their list price, and has an irrational distrust of buying anything that isn't new).

Adi is unable to roll her tongue or wiggle her ears (as mentioned in chapter 11).

==Hypnosis==

She has a few triggers, instilled by different hypnosis files:

* "Adelaide" - makes her act out all her baby behaviours (chapter 1)
* "If I was a baby I would ________." - Self-trigger only. Creates a new baby behaviour (chapter 1). Doesn't seem to need to be phrased precisely this way -- "... if I was really like a baby, like I didn't know how to ___" (chapter 9) works. So does "a baby wouldn't ___" works, and "they don't ____" (chapter 20).
* "What baby behaviours do you follow?" - Makes her list all the behaviours she's following. (chapter 34; described in chapter 32)
* "What's your baby name trigger?" - compelled to answer; was in the same file as the one above (chapter 34/32. First used by [[../Mom/]] in chapter 57)

Her current baby behaviours are:
* "If I was a baby I’d wet myself” (chapter 2)
** “Like I don’t know how to hold my pee at all." (added in chapter 9)
* "If I was a baby I wouldn’t be embarrassed about wearing and using diapers," (chapter 20)

* "If I was a baby, I’d tell the person triggering me if it had been more than a day since I listened to the hypnosis file even if I don’t know why it’s important. And if I was a baby, I’d get really enthusiastic when I got a chance to listen to that file again, so that I could keep on enjoying it this much." (chapter 245)

==Hints==
She has a bunch of badges she can use to indicate how old she wants to be treated. They came off birthday cards, saying she's 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, and 16 years old. She also has one saying "It's a girl!" which she can put on to indicate that she wants to be triggered but is too shy to ask.

The main indicator is a T-shirt which Toni bought for her. She has two copies of this one; one at the back of her closet at home, and one behind a drawer in the guest room closet at [[../Toni/]]'s house. Pink, with yellow and orange butterflies made from tiny scraps of fabric sewn all across the shoulders, and the word “Babe” in large letters across the front. There was a unicorn on the back as well. It was really childish, but made in adult sizes.

If she wears this dress, that's a sign that she wants to be forced into babyhood no matter how much she protests. The only way she can stop after that point is to say the safeword "Deontological". However, at her birthday party she inadvertently gives herself the additional baby behaviour of being unable to say long words. This is further confused because Toni misremembered the safeword as "Teleological", and that's what she told Britney and Nyx. They might realise the mistake if Adi was able to get the whole safeword out (the two words are opposites); but who it is might change how long it takes them to make the connection.

==Education==
* Seems to be aiming to study some kind of media course (chapter 66-68).

==Critical Mass==

Adi was an active member of the website [[Critical Mass]] for several years before the events of the books. Along with her friend [[../Locke/]], she used to post daily reviews of the top threads on a certain image board as if they were literary works. When Locke held a poll among his followers to choose a new area to move into, Adi did the same. But there were only a handful of responses, and a significant number of comments reviewing her poll, claiming that it was uninspired and derivative, and that she was copying Locke. One comment suggested a niche that seemed like it might be of interest, and a field in which there were few other CritMassers writing reviews for, so she decided to give it a chance.

For around a year, she posted reviews of popular r63 fanfic without reference to the original media they were based on, which some of the fans found hilarious. Her fanbase slowly grew, but before long she started to feel like she was getting stuck in a rut again. She allowed her focus to gradually move from fiction towards the discussions of gender politics that often surrounded them, and managed to pick up more fans here, although on looking back she will realise that she sounded more like whiny hater than a decent reviewer. From there, it was a slow progression to reviewing Internet hypnosis files, which she stuck with for around 18 months before the start of the stories.

Her CritMass name is "Professor Nimh".

==Family background==

Adelaide was conceived before her parents really had a stable relationship. It was a kind of on-again/off-again thing, which means that they were only about 90% sure that Aiden was really her father. This never mattered when she was young, because he did his best to be a good father and never raised the question. But her dad was married to his job, and always seemed a little detached from his family. Eventually he left, choosing his job over his family. He invites both Adi and Garfield on holidays two or three times per year, but they always seem to go to places that don't interest Adi, and he's never willing to schedule around other people. He'll take a week away when it's convenient for his work, and expect the kids to skip a week of school or whatever to be with him. Adi decided when she was thirteen that she cares about her education enough to start turning him down.

The main character in [[../]].

Adi is egotistical, and sure she's smarter than everyone else. Possibly autistic; shows some behaviours such as hyperfocus, and failing to interpret other people's comments in the context of what they do or don't know.

She loves writing reviews and sees them as a kind of performance art, rather than being secondary to another art. She used to do them for music and movies, but later specialised in reviewing hypnosis files available online, because that's the only area she got any feedback at all. Her kind of review is more like a comedy roast than an actual analysis.

She also has tried learning to play bass; briefly dreamed of being in a band. She has some skill, but there's no way she'd ever have the confidence to play in front of someone else. One of her secret desires is a particular guitar that's on sale second hand in a local music shop. It's more expensive than she could ever afford, almost as expensive as a new one. But it's been on tour with a couple of relatively obscure bands, including at least one player who Adi idolised in the past. One of the bands was called [[Franklin’s Muse]]; they did a tour once that covered half the West Coast, but it's implied that's the most success they ever had. She can't tell her family about that, though, because she thinks it's illogical to want something like that and she knows her father would disapprove (because he judges presents purely in terms of their list price, and has an irrational distrust of buying anything that isn't new).

Adi is unable to roll her tongue or wiggle her ears (as mentioned in chapter 11).

She has a bunch of badges she can use to indicate how old she wants to be treated. They came off birthday cards, saying she's 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, and 16 years old. She also has one saying "It's a girl!" which she can put on to indicate that she wants to be triggered but is too shy to ask.

The main indicator is a T-shirt which Toni bought for her. She has two copies of this one; one at the back of her closet at home, and one behind a drawer in the guest room closet at [[../Toni/]]'s house. Pink, with yellow and orange butterflies made from tiny scraps of fabric sewn all across the shoulders, and the word “Babe” in large letters across the front. There was a unicorn on the back as well. It was really childish, but made in adult sizes.

If she wears this dress, that's a sign that she wants to be forced into babyhood no matter how much she protests. The only way she can stop after that point is to say the safeword "Deontological". However, at her birthday party she inadvertently gives herself the additional baby behaviour of being unable to say long words. This is further confused because Toni misremembered the safeword as "Teleological", and that's what she told Britney and Nyx. They might realise the mistake if Adi was able to get the whole safeword out (the two words are opposites); but who it is might change how long it takes them to make the connection.

==Critical Mass==

Adi was an active member of the website [[Critical Mass]] for several years before the events of the books. Along with her friend [[../Locke/]], she used to post daily reviews of the top threads on a certain image board as if they were literary works. When Locke held a poll among his followers to choose a new area to move into, Adi did the same. But there were only a handful of responses, and a significant number of comments reviewing her poll, claiming that it was uninspired and derivative, and that she was copying Locke. One comment suggested a niche that seemed like it might be of interest, and a field in which there were few other CritMassers writing reviews for, so she decided to give it a chance.

For around a year, she posted reviews of popular r63 fanfic without reference to the original media they were based on, which some of the fans found hilarious. Her fanbase slowly grew, but before long she started to feel like she was getting stuck in a rut again. She allowed her focus to gradually move from fiction towards the discussions of gender politics that often surrounded them, and managed to pick up more fans here, although on looking back she will realise that she sounded more like whiny hater than a decent reviewer. From there, it was a slow progression to reviewing Internet hypnosis files, which she stuck with for around 18 months before the start of the stories.

Her CritMass name is "Professor Nimh".

==Family background==

Adelaide was conceived before her parents really had a stable relationship. It was a kind of on-again/off-again thing, which means that they were only about 90% sure that Aiden was really her father. This never mattered when she was young, because he did his best to be a good father and never raised the question. But her dad was married to his job, and always seemed a little detached from his family. Eventually he left, choosing his job over his family. He invites both Adi and Garfield on holidays two or three times per year, but they always seem to go to places that don't interest Adi, and he's never willing to schedule around other people. He'll take a week away when it's convenient for his work, and expect the kids to skip a week of school or whatever to be with him. Adi decided when she was thirteen that she cares about her education enough to start turning him down.

He's several years younger than Adi, and a lot more social, though a bit of a geek.
Into video games (he's looking forward to the release of [[War of Aegis: Infinite Praxis]] and complains that his 6-month-old laptop doesn't have the specs to play the demo) and trading card games (he plays one called [[Bonzai!]]. The boosters are bright green and yellow foil)

He likes to go on holiday with his dad, but dreads the prospect of actually living with the guy.
Can't stop rebelling. Wants to be a hacker, or a social engineer. Loves being able to manipulate people. He torments Adi with stupid little pranks, but always behaves or makes himself out to be the victim when Mom is around.

Recently been watching videos online about physical security. Started doing escape rooms with a couple of his friends, and taught himself to pick locks with online videos. Tried using this trick to get into Adi's room just to wind her up, but got caught and had his computer privileges taken away.

In the past, he's written slashfic pairing [[../Tyler Walthamstone/]] (teen heartthrob and the lead character of some vampire movie) with his school friend [[../Jack Dibble/]]. He now finds this very embarrassing, and dreads Jack ever finding out. Later in the story, he and Jack seem to be dating. He doesn't want his friends to find out, and acts a little more cautiously. Then when he realises he has something important that he doesn't want to lose, he starts to turn his life around a little. He's still a jerk with little respect for laws or other people; but he's no longer actively malicious.

The main character in [[../]].

Adi is egotistical, and sure she's smarter than everyone else. Possibly autistic; shows some behaviours such as hyperfocus, and failing to interpret other people's comments in the context of what they do or don't know.

She loves writing reviews and sees them as a kind of performance art, rather than being secondary to another art. She used to do them for music and movies, but later specialised in reviewing hypnosis files available online, because that's the only area she got any feedback at all. Her kind of review is more like a comedy roast than an actual analysis.

She also has tried learning to play bass; briefly dreamed of being in a band. She has some skill, but there's no way she'd ever have the confidence to play in front of someone else. One of her secret desires is a particular guitar that's on sale second hand in a local music shop. It's more expensive than she could ever afford, almost as expensive as a new one. But it's been on tour with a couple of relatively obscure bands, including at least one player who Adi idolised in the past. One of the bands was called [[Franklin’s Muse]]; they did a tour once that covered half the West Coast, but it's implied that's the most success they ever had. She can't tell her family about that, though, because she thinks it's illogical to want something like that and she knows her father would disapprove (because he judges presents purely in terms of their list price, and has an irrational distrust of buying anything that isn't new).

Adi is unable to roll her tongue or wiggle her ears (as mentioned in chapter 11).

==Hints==
She has a bunch of badges she can use to indicate how old she wants to be treated. They came off birthday cards, saying she's 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, and 16 years old. She also has one saying "It's a girl!" which she can put on to indicate that she wants to be triggered but is too shy to ask.

The main indicator is a T-shirt which Toni bought for her. She has two copies of this one; one at the back of her closet at home, and one behind a drawer in the guest room closet at [[../Toni/]]'s house. Pink, with yellow and orange butterflies made from tiny scraps of fabric sewn all across the shoulders, and the word “Babe” in large letters across the front. There was a unicorn on the back as well. It was really childish, but made in adult sizes.

If she wears this dress, that's a sign that she wants to be forced into babyhood no matter how much she protests. The only way she can stop after that point is to say the safeword "Deontological". However, at her birthday party she inadvertently gives herself the additional baby behaviour of being unable to say long words. This is further confused because Toni misremembered the safeword as "Teleological", and that's what she told Britney and Nyx. They might realise the mistake if Adi was able to get the whole safeword out (the two words are opposites); but who it is might change how long it takes them to make the connection.

==Critical Mass==

Adi was an active member of the website [[Critical Mass]] for several years before the events of the books. Along with her friend [[../Locke/]], she used to post daily reviews of the top threads on a certain image board as if they were literary works. When Locke held a poll among his followers to choose a new area to move into, Adi did the same. But there were only a handful of responses, and a significant number of comments reviewing her poll, claiming that it was uninspired and derivative, and that she was copying Locke. One comment suggested a niche that seemed like it might be of interest, and a field in which there were few other CritMassers writing reviews for, so she decided to give it a chance.

For around a year, she posted reviews of popular r63 fanfic without reference to the original media they were based on, which some of the fans found hilarious. Her fanbase slowly grew, but before long she started to feel like she was getting stuck in a rut again. She allowed her focus to gradually move from fiction towards the discussions of gender politics that often surrounded them, and managed to pick up more fans here, although on looking back she will realise that she sounded more like whiny hater than a decent reviewer. From there, it was a slow progression to reviewing Internet hypnosis files, which she stuck with for around 18 months before the start of the stories.

Her CritMass name is "Professor Nimh".

==Family background==

Adelaide was conceived before her parents really had a stable relationship. It was a kind of on-again/off-again thing, which means that they were only about 90% sure that Aiden was really her father. This never mattered when she was young, because he did his best to be a good father and never raised the question. But her dad was married to his job, and always seemed a little detached from his family. Eventually he left, choosing his job over his family. He invites both Adi and Garfield on holidays two or three times per year, but they always seem to go to places that don't interest Adi, and he's never willing to schedule around other people. He'll take a week away when it's convenient for his work, and expect the kids to skip a week of school or whatever to be with him. Adi decided when she was thirteen that she cares about her education enough to start turning him down.

She is mentioned as one of the narrator's hypnosis clients in [[A Little Break]]; [[Reg Bracewell|her Daddy]] is in the story but she isn't.

She meets [[Hypnosis Doesn't Work Like That!/Belle Carter|Belle]] in chapter 395 of [[Hypnosis Doesn't Work Like That!]], looking over her niece playing with other kids in the park.

When she was younger, she was determined to be a business tycoon, be rich, and prove that girls can business as well as boys. This turned into a strong academic focus; putting all her energy into learning so she could be the best and make her mark on the world. Only after university, she realised that she'd skimped on childhood, as she aimed to be successful as fast as possible with no interest in having fun along the way.

==Appearance==

30, but looks a little younger. Tall and blonde. Hair in a tight bun at the back of her head when she's working, in bunches that almost hang down to her elbows when she's being little.

Wears a [[D’assadro]] suit and carries a [[Le Traité]] imitation-leather briefcase. It's obvious she's reasonably well-off, but the importance she sets on gifts and similar, and her aversion to waste, hints that her financial stability is of her own making.

In the briefcase she carries a small clutch purse, or what could have been a large purse for a child. It looks serious and formal like the rest of her stuff, but when she lifts it out there are a bunch of badges and stickers on one side; a hidden sign of individuality. If she lets you see them, it probably means she doesn't consider you a threat to her reputation. Whether you're someone she trusts, or someone she considers inconsequential, she doesn't need to hide who she is. One of the stickers is a tag from [[Bureau of Kidult Services]].

I'm putting in chapter numbers so that I can easily find bits I want to refer to in future, but any help with adding them would be appreciated.

==First Act==
* First week
** Tuesday night - listens to the file, first test. Chapters 1-9.
** Wednesday - triggered by mom, then by Featherchase in school. Goes home with Toni
** Thursday - triggered by Toni's dad on speakerphone. Tells friends. Triggered by Belle. Evening, gets book list from Brit and asks Mom to call her adi
** Friday - triggered by Belle in the morning. Mom finds note. Sees Belle/Dean arguing at school. Triggered by Leatherface again
** Saturday - Mom cryptically questions Adi. Its ''about a month'' until Adi's birthday. Adi and Toni go shopping at the [[Mercer Centre]]. Adi says "If I was really an adult baby" line.

** Ends up missing the time she's supposed to listen to her file, but she automatically tells Nyx as soon as she gets home.

* Adi 'kidnapped'. Dean won't tell her what's going on, uses the triggers to make her behave through airport security, won't tell her anything.

* POV shift for a few chapters. Nobody knows where Adi is gone, they're all worried about her.

** Belle decides to stop with the baby thing while Dean is away, because she was only doing it to get her brother to pay attention to her again

* Start with the kidnapping scene again, Adi getting her phone taken away.
* Adi's being awkward and uncooperative.
** Figures that if Dean's going to regress her to keep her from getting help, she can fight by being a sulky toddler.
** Tantrums, refusing to do anything unless she's forced to.
* Some time later. Adi refuses to eat unless Dean forces her. He's fed up of this, and leaves her alone.
** She gets hungry and goes through the cupboards, sneaking cookies and chocolate when Dean isn't looking.
*** Dean isn't an idiot; knows that she's at least eating something, even if it isn't healthy, so doesn't tell her she's being dumb.
* Later again. Dean proposes a walk in the woods to get some exercise.
** Adi obstinately refusing to get dressed, but she's weak and clumsy. Dean dresses her.
** Deliberately messes her diaper to delay going out.
*** Dean is angry, snaps at her and tells her to stop acting like a baby. Some argument, then he leaves her on her own.
* Next morning. Talking at breakfast.
** Adi says he can't blame her for acting like a baby when he's treating her like one.
** Dean points out that he hasn't called her Adelaide in more than two weeks. The hypnotic suggestions should be fading.
** There's adult clothes for her in the closet in her room, if she wants to wear them. There's food that she should be able to cook herself if she wants to live on something other than just snacks (revealing that he knows she's been eating while he's not in the cottage).
** Adi says if she was free she'd at least be able to call home, or go online. Dean points out that he took her phone away because she's following a compulsion to keep on listening to the file, and he's worried that she was overdoing it.
*** During the exam period Dean realised that Adi was a blogger/reviewer he'd read when studying psychology, and knew that at least at the start she genuinely didn't want all this to happen. He read the 'note', and realised what it meant, but Toni and Nyx were convinced they'd already confirmed Adi's desires, wouldn't listen. He knows that after the file made her feel safe and relaxed, she might not be able to truly consent to going further; the vestigial effects of the file could be making a decision for her.
* After that argument, Adi's back in adult clothes (although more cutesy styles than she would have worn before)
* Has to potty train herself again, to recover the control she lost through weeks as a baby.
* Dean thinks it might be safe to try listening to the file again, but pick herself a new baby name. Changing her name will probably remove the old trigger more effectively than just forgetting it (which is what other people on the hypnotist's site said as well)
** Pick a name that sounds cute and childish but isn't a real name or a place name (check facebook to make sure) like Belle did
*** Adi ''finally'' asks what the deal with Belle and Dean is, because she still didn't realise they're siblings. So now she doesn't need to be jealous anymore (not that she ever did anyway, she certainly isn't interested in him like that)
* Another week or two pass.
** Dean tries to call Nyx, but gets nothing but incoherent abuse and demands to speak to Adi. Can't make her understand his position.
*** Adi would consider calling home, but they suspect that any call would start with someone calling her Adelaide and trying to forcibly 'rescue' her. So they want to leave it until she's 100% sure that trigger will no longer work.
** Dean's doing online coaching, signed up for a freelance programme on some internet-connected treadmills.
** Adi's doing freelance copywriting to save up a bit more money for college. Doesn't want to go home until she's sure the
** Adi listens to the file, initially with Dean monitoring to make sure she's chanting the right name.
* Have just had a 'baby time' session; it's something they're still doing to make sure the new trigger is sticking (in the hope it will help "Adelaide"'s effects vanish) as well as help her avoid stress
** Mom, Toni, and everyone come to the door. Dean asks Adi before answering if she feels confident speaking to them yet; and she says she's scared about having put them through too much

* Adi tells everyone that she's mostly potty trained again, and after their attempt she's pretty certain that the old trigger no longer works.
* They have a little discussion about how they managed to misunderstand so much, and conclude it was nobody's fault.

* Toni isn't sure what to call Adi now. It seems weird using her name normally after all the weirdness; and she's not sure if "Babe" is appropriate if Adi and Dean are together nw

A story started on Jan 25th, 2019. Based on another Wattpad story, which had an interesting concept but was almost unreadable due to head-hopping first person, inconsistent tenses, and similar issues.

This version is the story of an almost-adult girl (who may be adult before the story ends). Kitty Angel is writing it without any proper planning, experimenting with the half-improvised style that seems to be popular on Wattpad, and with posting one or more chapters every day.
